Do i need every disc to play in northrend on world of warcraft?

in order for your friend to play, he may have to purchase his own copy of the game (big MAY). As for if it will affect your game playing, if you already have all 3 expansions installed onto your computer, you should be fine and unaffected. If you do not have the latest expansion installed onto your computer (WotLK) you will not be able to access Northrend.
If your friend wants to access BC and Wrath, he will need those expansions as well.

Your friend does not need to buy the game, he can simply copy yours onto his computer, its totally legal XD . He will however need to buy himself an account to play, unless you want to share an account? cant see how that will work, unless you never plan on playing together.

Just remembered, you might want to look into the “recruit a friend” feature also on the website. It makes the two of you gain 3 times more exp when playing together, aswell as other nice stuffs XD enjoy
