Is buying gold for Runescape on eBay a scam?
Maybaby asked:
My son wants me to buy him gold on eBay for Runescape and I want to know if it is legit or a scam?
Why is Runescape a bad game?
Runescape sounds like a perfect game for a 9 yr old, then! Bad graphics(who cares, he’s 9) bad words censored (Good, he’s 9) we paid for the member’s world, so not just anybody is in there, only people who pay
It’s perfect for young kids, I don’t want him playing anything that’s evil or warcraft or anything like that

Let me see if I got this straight…
You want to pay with REAL cash for something that is not even real, but is a product of someone’s imagination – used in a computer game.
Is that right??
Google’s Free Click Formula
its probably not a scam but it is against the runescape EULA (End User Licence Agreement) so you could buy the gold for him and if runescape finds out they will cancel his account and he will lose everything

Tell him to get a life. Runescape is a reallly bad game.
**edit***
Runescape is a bad game because of
1: the boring, monotonous gameplay. there are much more better and/or productive ways to waste time then click…..click…..click…..click….click….
2: the bad graphics
3: bad community. there are lots of…not so great people who make up the runescape community. because the game is free, it attracts all sorts of delinquents who are incapable of getting a job, sit at home wasting their life away on a game that is not even that entertaining. and amongst the bad apples, there are the occasional rotten apples- “hi lyke wehre do u liv?” This does not apply to everyone who plays, I’m sure there are decent people who play. But I can assure you, that your son’s time is better spent doing something else or playing a different game. may i recommend World of Warcraft (note, this game is very addictive) or Guild Wars?

I’ve heard of the same thing happening with world of warcraft. People making money off other people by selling objects in the game.
I think that you shouldn’t buy it for him. Make him play the game!!

Most likely, Val, the “gold” that is for sale on eBay is not a scam, but it will not be worth it. Buying and selling items and gold for real money is totally against RuneScape’s rules that you agreed to when signing up. If you were to buy the gold, the seller would probably actually give it to you, but your son’s RuneScape account would be terminated because of rule-violation. RuneScape has people who monitor eBay and other auction/trading sites and track down who sold what gold and to whom. They usually end that person’s account or give them a harsh warning.
I know this because I used to play RuneScape a lot (not at all anymore, however)
When someone said RuneScape was a bad game, they probably meant that it has very bad graphics (looks bad) and isn’t very in depth. I don’t think they meant bad as in very mature because it definitely isn’t. It’s completely PG – even almost all bad words you could think of are censored (including crap and sucks), so don’t worry about your son playing the game – let him have fun

Yes.. it is against the rules.. i’m not sure exactly what rule number it is.. but it is a rule that is like real life trading or something.. just wise not to do it
