Can you use a regular flying mount bought in Outland in Northrend?

I don’t have enough gold to train for expert riding skill so I want to buy a regular gryphon mount in outland because it only requires the artisan riding skill. But I wanted to know can you use it in Northrend?

    You can use it in Northrend only after you’ve bought cold weather flying at lvl 77 for 1k gold.

    Only after u’ve bought cold weather flying at lvl 77 – which is what i’m working towards as well!
    they do have the loaner mount you can use while you get enough money. that’s what i’m doing
